The crisp evening air at Reeds school saw Epsom welcome Tulse Hill and Dulwich for a pre season friendly, and there were flashes of decent hockey from the home side as they continue their build up to the start of the league season.

The first game for Epsom at their new home pitch at Blenheim School saw them record a thumping 6-2 pre season win against Ashford. With defensive lynchpin Ali Murrell unavilable, Alex Simmonds was joined at centre back by his brother Matt.

Epsom went down to a disappointing defeat to UCL Academicals on the first day of the Surrey/Hants league season. After some decent performances in pre-season, Epsom were lethargic this time out, playing at a slow tempo and conceding three soft goals just after half time to effectively surrender the tie.
Epsom endured a frustrating afternoon on Saturday, playing some decent hockey in patches but failing to put a number of chances away and succumbing 1-0 to visitors Trojans.
